Farmington Homeowners Association Board Meeting Minutes from January 3rd, 2012

Jim Kadlec, a neighbor and DuPage Township board member, came to discuss the current  status of the township’s disbursements. He talked about how the majority of donations, sponsorships and scholarships have mainly been going to Bolingbrook and Romeoville, and not Naperville. He was bringing this to our attention so we were aware of the situation and the funds available. In May, scholarships will be awarded.

Marybeth brought up how some members have been concerned with the increased fee for social events. All present agreed to lower the fee for the upcoming adult holiday party from $30 a couple, to $20. It was realized that this function is possibly not cost efficient for some when looking at the price to go, possible sweater, gift, food item, and childcare. Marybeth handed out the current budget, minus the holiday social events. The insurance bill has not been reflected either and will arrive soon. We have $2,000 more to spend by May 31.

Barb is still looking for a co-chair to help out with children’s socials. Kristen Gervase has offered to take over the Easter egg hunt and she will pick a date.

The plan is do a ladies’ social with an Oscar’s party theme in February. We have a few choices for hosts at this time (Ginny Lafferty, Sony Anand, Kim Maloney??) that will then choose a date. In March, there will be an adult social with either bowling or whirly ball as two top options.

Maureen plans to hold a meeting for all block captains to insure on time delivery of newsletters. She will also be asking a north captain to be a coordinator for the north. We will add more to landscaping in the spring, but what is yet to be determined.

Next meeting will be at Randa Siblik’s on April 10.

Updates from the Farmington Homeowners Association Board Meeting Minutes

September 28, 2011

The block party was another big success with a few changes noted for next year: horse races will be reduced to 3 races with a larger chalk area, age groups are needed for both hula hoops and limbo, more grillers/start earlier, no bags tournament, side dish/dessert needs to accommodate approximately 20 people, the north entrance doesn’t need to be up so far, and it was agreed to keep the date and the DJ. Hosting a neighborhood charity was brought up and we are looking for ideas.

Children’s social chairman is looking for a co-chair to help out. We are also looking for someone to fill the publicity role. Nov.11 will be a ladies’ social with a game night theme, Oct. 30 at 2pm will be Halloween parade, Children’s Christmas party will once again be held at Brunswick Zone with date to be announced, and Jan. 7 will be Adult Christmas party. Volunteers are always needed for hosting/helping with neighborhood activities!

Summer Newsletter: Ice Cream Social

Traditionally, Children’s Social Events have been limited to children up through elementary school age. We’d like to be more welcoming to children of all ages, especially those in middle school, who still may want to participate. Please feel free to have your kids participate as they are interested. And again, if older kids still want to be involved but feel “too old,” they make GREAT handy helpers!!!

Summer Newsletter: Our Newest Volunteers

We’d like to take this opportunity to welcome a few new faces to several of our committees, as well as to the Association Board. Thank you Kristen Gervase for stepping up to spearhead our Welcoming Committee, as well as taking on the role of head block captain for the south end of the neighborhood. Thanks also to Bill Flater for his tireless efforts with the entrances and taking on the Landscaping Committee. And thank you Randa Siblik for stepping into the role of Secretary. We could still use help on the Board in the role of Vice President, and our Ladies’ Social and Publicity committees are also open, plus we have many additional opportunities for you to get involved. Please give Maureen Lein a call and see what you can do to contribute to our Farmington community.
